How Quality Photos can affect Buyer Perception when Selling Your Home

By Edward Hannah

February 19, 2015

Regardless of where a potential buyer sees your home listing, the first thing they will see are the photos. It is imperative that these photos be of high quality as they will be a major determining factor of whether or not a potential buyer will ultimately spend their time to visit your home.

Does this mean a professional photographer will need to do an elaborate photo session? Not necessarily. In fact we utilize a photo technique called HDR photography that brings out the lost tones taken with a normal photo. These photos can be taken by us using any digital camera using an advanced technique called bracketing. These photos are then tone-mapped to generate the HDR photos.

Below are 2 samples I took of a friend's house in late morning sun light that will demonstrate how we process our home photos. The second example isn't as dramatic as the first, but is provided to show that even on a good photo HDR can improve upon it. Click on the pictures to open up a larger view.
